June Events:

Man v Horse Marathon, Llanwrtyd Wells 

08 June.

This past weekend we saw the Man V Horse Marathon in Llanwrtyd Wells.

This has to be one of the quirkiest events that take place today in Wales. It’s all based on a Welsh man’s bet that he could beat a rider on horseback over a 22-mile race through the mountainous terrain back in 1980. Man finally became victorious against horse in 2004! Huw Lobb, the machine against animal won its first ever jackpot of £25,000!

The WAAT4 Challenge, Brecon

15 June. 

Pull out your maps and tighten those boots, because this is a navigational challenge not to miss! In a determined bid to raise money for charity, keen navigators team up and take part in a choice of two routes (20km and 40km) throughout the Brecon Beacons. While taking in some of Wales’ best views taking you to its highest peak in Pen Y Fan.

With a free packed lunch, and a finishers’ medal and T-shirt you’ll be crossing that line with more than a grand sense of achievement.

Peterstone Court (Brecon)

After a day of hiking over the Welsh landscape, you’ll want to rest those aching feet by taking some well-deserved relaxation time.  That’s why nearby Peterstone Court- right in the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park is the perfect place to unwind.

With its glorious views, you’ll be able to sit back and gaze over the peaks you’ve conquered.

Pembrokeshire Fish Week

22-30 June. 

Pembrokeshire Fish Week started as a small finishing competition in 1999, it is now a countywide multisite week-long festival. With over 250 events throughout the week, Pembrokeshire Fish Week is one of the most popular Welsh events of the year.

Many will flock to the West Coast in Haverfordwest to celebrate first-class seafood, spectacular coastline, award-winning beaches, and fascinating maritime heritage.

Tafwyl, Cardiff

22-23 June.

Named ‘Cardiff’s Best Festival’ at the Cardiff Music Awards in March 2018, Tafwyl is one summer Welsh event that you certainly won’t want to miss. The festival is a celebration of the Welsh language in the capital city Cardiff, and where better to celebrate than the legendary Cardiff Castle grounds!

With a mix of music, literature, drama, comedy, art, sports, street food & drink this is a family event like no other. The festival goes on for nine days and you’ll be pleased to know the event is free and open to all.
